Janice Gunderson was named Director of Peninsula Cantare in January 1997, and under her vibrant direction, the choir has delighted Peninsula audiences with performances of choral beauty and excitement. Janice has been an active musician in the Bay Area, working as a director, pianist, and teacher. From 1985 to 1997 she served as Assistant Conductor for the Masterworks Chorale. She has been a church Choir Director and Organist and in demand as a piano accompanist.
Janice studied at Lewis & Clark College and holds a degree from the University of Oregon in Music with additional work at Cal State Hayward and San Jose State.
Janice also directs the Peninsula Choraliers, a women's choir. She is a member of the American Choral Directors Association.
